Our History: Organized in 1981 by Roger Rush, the Waco Community Band consists of amateur and professional musicians from throughout Central Texas and is sponsored by McLennan Community College, Waco, Texas. The band rehearses weekly and performs frequent concerts each year during its eleven-month season.
Our Mission: To promote music and its enjoyment throughout Central Texas. To provide an opportunity for amateur and professional musicians to fulfill their souls. To bring new music of high artistic integrity to the community while at the same time preserving the rich repertoire of the past.
Associations: The Waco Community Band is a member of the Association of Concert Bands, which aids in establishing community bands so that each musician who wishes to perform has that opportunity, that every community has the opportunity to take civic pride in its band, and that Americans and citizens of the world community can enjoy performances of band music.
